Hervé
Perdriolle has led simultaneously
a career as graphic designer (with positions such as graphic designer of
the Artistes Review and of Gallery Maëght, etc.) and as organizer of
cultural exhibitions (curator of exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art
of Paris, France) as well as partaking in other initiatives in the world
of contemporary art (creating artist shop, manager of Di Rosa Society,
first show in France of Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat, critic
and essayist, etc). From
September 1996 to May 1999,
Hervé Perdriolle has settled in India, where he has conducted a study
and research of the tribal and popular art of India. Simultaneously, he
has organized several exhibitions such as Alliance Française of
Pondicherry, Musée des Arts Décoratifs of Paris, Judith A. Saslow
Gallery of Chicago, etc., featuring the works he has collected
throughout his travels. Hervé Perdriolle was awarded the 1998-1999 AFAA Prize by the AFAA Association, an organization under the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for his « Indian expeditions ».
